Birch Ridge Golf Association Junior Camp
2024 Jr Camp Dates
2024 Birch Ridge Golf “Saplings”
June 17th-June 21st
(9am-12pm)
Ages range (6-10)
This year, 16 children that are new (never played) to the wonderful game of golf will be chosen to participate in our “Birch Ridge Saplings” Junior Golf Program. This is a program that is designed to replace Hook a Kid on Golf, while still keeping the same ideas and goals of introducing golf to kids and having fun along the way.
There will be a lottery drawing held on May 22nd to see which children will be chosen to participate this year.
The BRGA will be covering the cost of all the necessary equipment, and if your child decides that he/she loves the game, you will have a chance to purchase the set they used for $200 at the end of the week. We are getting much better quality clubs than in previous years, that will outperform and outlast previous brands. We will be ordering Callaway and Strata sets, which normally retail for between $349 and $399.
This is a great chance to let your child experience the great game of golf in a fun and safe environment, with instructors that truly love the game and wish to see it grow.

Beginners will also introduced to golf rules and etiquette. A required level of skill, which is determined by the instructors, will be required to advance to the next group.
2) Intermediate golfers – Juniors who have exceeded the beginners level. Primary focus will be on advancing skill development, additional course play, and preparing golfers to be able to play by themselves. Upon completion of this level juniors will be given an opportunity to qualify for Alaska state competitions. Qualification will be based on merit as well as a minimum skill score. Participants will be also be allowed to play on the golf course without parental supervision with the consent of the instructors.
Zac Cowan will direct and supervise the BRGC Junior Program. Help! Help! If you can assist in the BRGC Junior Golf Program, we really need your help. Juniors who have completed the program, seniors, parents, we need your help to make this program a great experience for our little duffers. Please contact the golf course if you can help.
